The HUB staff delivers comprehensive service and counsel to students and families regarding financial aid, billing and payment, registration and academic records. From applying for federal loans and enrolling in online banking, to planning course schedules and ordering verifications - The HUB staff can help.

The HUB College Liaisons

The Assistant Directors in The HUB serve as contacts for specific colleges assisting students with key aspects of the enrollment process.  Students can find their assigned HUB Liaison on their Student Information Online (SIO) Resource page under Important Contacts.  Questions that need specialized, in-depth attention can be directed to the student's liaison.  For general questions and information, students may email thehub@andrew.cmu.edu  or call 412-268-8186.

Student Information Online (SIO)

SIO is a secure site where students can find important, personalized information, including E-Bills and student account information, financial aid status and eligibility, grades and QPA, and course schedules. Students can update their and their parents', spouse's or domestic partner's contact information, enroll in online banking, authorize other individuals to receive a copy of their E-Bill and invite them to use My Plaid Student, request verifications, view their housing and meal plan assignments, and much more. Students can log on to SIO by going to www.cmu.edu/hub/sio and entering their Andrew User ID and password.

The HUB Website

The HUB website is updated frequently with important information and deadlines concerning enrollment issues. The website houses enrollment alerts and messages,  the Academic Calendar, cost of attendance information, financial aid application instructions, academic record information, links to online services and much, much more.

Other Functions of The HUB

Registration & Academic Records

The University Registrar's Office provides information on policies and procedures pertaining to registration, courses, grades and academic records, including transcripts, verifications and diplomas. The registrar's office collects course offerings from academic departments to create the Schedule of Classes each semester and also prepares the final exam schedule and the Academic Calendar. Some university classrooms are also controlled by the registrar's office. For more information about registration, courses and records, visit www.cmu.edu/hub. The HUB, along with the registrar's office, supports graduating students with preparing for graduation and distributing diplomas. Graduation requirements and deadlines, diploma distribution information, and cap and gown adornment information can also be found on The HUB website at www.cmu.edu/hub.

The Undergraduate Catalog, produced by the University Registrar's Office, is intended to detail the university's academic programs, policies and services for use by current undergraduate students, faculty and administrators. Check out the catalog online at http://coursecatalog.web.cmu.edu/.

Financial Responsibilities & Services

E-Bills (student account invoices) are produced the last day of each month. Students receive email notifications from the Student Accounts Office in The HUB when a new E-Bill is ready for viewing on SIO. Payments for any new charges are due on the 15th of the next calendar month. Since Carnegie Mellon does not mail paper invoices, students are strongly encouraged to log onto SIO to authorize CMU to email a copy of their E-Bill to their parent(s) or other bill payer(s).

tudents should register for online banking. This is the fastest, easiest, and most convenient way to make a payment to or receive a refund from the university. Learn more by going to www.cmu.edu/hub/billing/payment/online-banking.html.

Students can find financial aid information on The HUB website, if they're exploring options to help pay for college tuition and expenses. They can also enroll in Carnegie Mellon's Tuition Payment Plan to help make payments. View information about financial assistance at www.cmu.edu/finaid.

ID Card Services

The HUB handles ID Card Services at the university. Go here for more information (LINK to ID Card section in The WORD).

Information for Parents/Guardians/Spouses

Because The HUB communicates with students through their Andrew email account, we encourage them to involve others by taking a few simple actions. Authorizing a parent or guardian to receive E-Bills and inviting them to use My Plaid Student can be completed through a student's SIO My Info page. Detailed information and instructions can be found on The HUB website at www.cmu.edu/hub/ebill-mps-instructions. Another great resource is the Plaid Parents webpage, which includes useful information specifically for parents and guardians.
