The Office of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving provides students, alumni and families with a wide range of ways to engage with the university and each other, through events and activities that support the university. We work with alumni and parent volunteers worldwide to foster a continuing connection to Carnegie Mellon, including alumni-student interaction both on campus and in students' home cities. Alumni are an integral part of any university community, and we hope you will have a lifelong relationship with the university and the people you meet here. Don't forget to register for your alumni.cmu.edu mail forwarding account!

Alumni Association

The Alumni Association community encompasses more than 85,000 alumni worldwide, many of whom maintain a close connection to the university and student community. We welcome students into the Alumni Association after completing one semester in a degree-granting program at the university.

Student Programs

We offer more than 50 events and programs throughout the year to connect students with each other and with alumni. As a student, you have the opportunity to interact with alumni through events such as Cèilidh Weekend, Spring Carnival, Love a Donor Week and Network Nights. The Highland Ambassador program seeks an elite group of students who are successful academically and involved on campus to represent the university to government leaders, university guests and alumni.

Céilidh Weekend and Spring Carnival & Reunion Weekend

Cèilidh Weekend and Spring Carnival & Reunion Weekend are important student-alumni weekends, as hundreds of returning alumni, parents, family and friends converge on campus. Decade based reunions, Alumni Interest Group gatherings and a variety of other events bring back those who want to renew ties with their classmates and current students, as well as see the new and exciting changes at the university. Be sure to join the student Cèilidh Weekend planning committee.

Global Networks

Carnegie Mellon's Global Networks keep alumni and parents in touch with Carnegie Mellon and each other, creating and strengthening friendships through geographical and Alumni Interest events and communications. Whether it's a clam-bake in Boston, a Networking Event in San Francisco, a social gathering in Shanghai, or a faculty guided tour of the Whitney Biennial in New York, there is something available for alumni and parents around the world. We also encourage students to attend these events to meet and interact with the Carnegie Mellon alumni in your area.

Carnegie Mellon Today

Carnegie Mellon Today is the primary university news magazine that keeps alumni, students and parents updated on what is happening at Carnegie Mellon. Published four times each year, it contains class news, articles, features and alumni news.

Loyal Scot Program

The Loyal Scot Program recognizes the most engaged alumni and students. Loyal Scots do four things each year: (1) Stay connected by registering for the on-line community or with the Alumni Relations office; (2) Get involved by volunteering for the Alumni Association or by attending Loyal Scot eligible events; (3) Make a gift of any size to whatever you are passionate about at CMU; and (4) Show your pride by promoting CMU, wearing your CMU gear, and shouting from the rooftops your affiliation with CMU. The student Loyal Scot committee is always looking for volunteers to help increase awareness about the importance of staying involved and giving back to the CMU community.
