Personal Well Being
The health and safety of our community is the foundation upon which we build. Success in academic or non-academic pursuits is rooted in the physical and emotional welfare of our community and its members. In addition to the basic health of students, personal well being includes the social agility of our students – the ability to interact and communicate effectively, to form social connections, and to manage personal relationships. The spiritual and ethical development of students also contributes to an overall sense of personal well being.
The following departments and services are specifically committed to ensuring the personal well being of our community members:
Counseling and Psychological Services (CaPS) offers students a chance to talk about personal, academic or social concerns. Students come to the CaPS for many reasons: feeling overwhelmed with school, problems with friends or family, feelings of insecurity or uncertainty.
Student Health Services provides the same range of services that you would find in any doctor’s office and is fully accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc.
Health Services also offers an array of wellness promotions including nutrition counseling, smoking cessation programs, peer health education, and massage.
University Police provides campus safety information and coordinates services such as the shuttle and escort.
