Mapping Brownfields

Working with The Center for Economic Development at Carnegie Mellon, the WPBC is scouring old land use maps and tax records for former industrial sites in the region. These sites will be mapped onto the Pittsburgh Neighborhood & Community Information System (PNCIS), which already maps condemned properties, County tax liens, and properties with demolition permits among other sites.  The tool will be used to assist in the development of Pittsburgh neighborhoods but the format will have application to other communities.
