Demographic Effects of Brownfield Redevelopment

The WPBC is working in conjunction with The Heritage Health Foundation, Inc. of Braddock, PA to study the relationship between brownfields and the neighborhoods in which they sit. Based on decennial census data (1970, 1980, 1990, 2000) the tool is intended to identify the best practices for future development alternatives. By charting selected indicators from census data and mapping the chronology of the site development process, we are looking for relationships between development strategies and resultant effects on the surrounding population.
