Professor Greg Lowry has been named the 2009 recipient of the Malcolm Pirnie/AEESP Frontier in Research Award, given to recognize an environmental engineering or science professor who has advanced the environmental engineering and science field through recognized research leadership and pioneering efforts in a new and innovative research area.

Professor Jeanne VanBriesen has been named the 2009 recipient of the McGraw-Hill/AEESP Award for Outstanding Teaching in Environmental Engineering & Science, given to honor a faculty member who has made substantive contributions directly through class-oriented teaching.

Varun Dutt, an Engineering & Public Policy Doctoral student, was nominated for the best student paper award at the ASEE NE 2009 conference. His paper, “A Model of Human Perceptions of Climate Change”, was written under the guidance of Professor Cleotilde Gonzalez.
