Benefits Forum Set for October 27, 2009

The annual Staff Council Benefits Forum will take place on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, from Noon - 1:30 p.m. in the University Center's Connan Room.

Please join Barbara Smith, Chief Human Resources Officer and Lori Bell, Benefits Specialist, as they review upcoming changes to staff benefit plans and answer your questions.

Ice Cream Social Set for Oct. 5

Votes are now being accepted for At-Large Representatives for Staff Council's 2009-2011 term. To vote, please visit https://staff-council.andrew.cmu.edu/voters/how_to_vote. Elections begin at Noon on June 23 and end on June 29 at 5:00 p.m.

Idlewild & Sandcastle Tickets Available to Staff

In addition to tickets for Staff Council's annual Kennywood Picnic, staff members are also eligible to purchase tickets for Idlewild and Sandcastle amusement parks at a discount.

Idlewild tickets are $17.99 (regularly $28.99)

Good on any operating day from June 9 through August 30, as well as September 5 - 7, 2009. There is no surcharge if used on a weekend day.

Sandcastle tickets are $16.00 (regularly $27.99)

Good on any operating day during the 2009 season, including special events such as concerts.

Staff Council Elections To Take Place June 23-30, 2009

Elections for Staff Council's 2009-2011 term will take place beginning June 23 at Noon through June 30 at 5:00 p.m. Voting will take place online by visiting https://staff-council.andrew.cmu.edu/voters/how_to_vote. Those who cannot vote online should contact Joseph Pastorik, Vice-Chair, (pastorik@andrew.cmu.edu or x8-5033) for a paper ballot.

Staff Council runs an annual elections process in the late spring to elect Divisional and At-Large Representatives. These representatives are elected bi-annually in alternating years. This year, there are 32 open slots for At-Large representation and those who accepted nominations last week will be eligible for election. Short biographies and photographs of each candidate will be available at https://staff-council.andrew.cmu.edu/elections/platforms by the opening of elections on June 23.

Nominations are now being accepted for At-Large Representatives for Staff Council's 2009 - 2011 term. Nominations may be made online by visiting https://staff-council.andrew.cmu.edu/nominate or by mail using the nomination form that was sent via Campus Mail. Nominations will be accepted from 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9 until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16. Self-nominations are welcomed.

The tagline, authored by Staff Council Representative Tara Reinoehl, will grace Council's future promotional efforts.
