The Gathering - Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley - Carnegie Mellon University

The Gathering

In addition to Orientation, both local and remote students are required to return to Silicon Valley for an all-class gathering.  The Gathering is designed to bring students together to (re)connect and actively review and reflect on issues in the industry. The 1.5 day schedule will feature a number of workshops and teambuilders, an engaging panel discussion, insightful speaker, opportunities to reevaluate and recharge, and more!

The Silicon Valley holds 2 Gathering events per year:

  • January Gathering: This Gathering is specifically geared to 2nd year part-time Software Engineering students, 1st year full-time Software Engineering students, and new MSIT INI students.  The theme for this Gathering is 'Organizational Change and Change in the Industry'.
  • May Gathering: Geared for 1st year part-time Software Engineering students, 1st year full-time Software Engineering students, 1st year part-time Software Management students, and new E&TIM students, this Gathering will focus on 'Improvisation and Creativity'.
