Cloud-based Services Management
The Service Measurement Index (SMI) is a set of measures to be used by decision-makers who are comparing important attributes of cloud-based services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and BPaaS). The SMI is being developed by CSMIC - a global consortium of commercial and academic organizations led by Carnegie Mellon University Silicon Valley researchers Jane Siegel and Jeff Perdue. CSMIC has published a framework of the critical cloud characteristics and their attributes and will make the developed measures publicly available.
