Research Professor Awarded Grant from Yahoo!
Dr. Joy Ying Zhang, an Assistant Research Professor at Carnegie Mellon University in Silicon Valley, has been awarded a $20,000 Yahoo! Faculty Research and Engagement award. Dr. Zhang won for his proposal, “Behavior-driven Context-aware Information Delivery.” “This award will help me to continue with my research at a high quality level but it also allows me the opportunity to collaborate with Yahoo! scientists on exciting new research,” said Dr. Zhang. The academic outreach program, which is in its seventh year, has awarded 26 faculty members this year from around the world based on joint areas of research interest with Yahoo! Labs.
Dr. Zhang's current research interests include nclude applying statistical learning methods on mobile applications for user behavior modeling and behavior-aware mobile computing including indoor positioning, geo-trace modeling, mobile lifelog.
