Students Come Together for Annual Gathering

During the weekend of May 15, twenty-one students from the Silicon Valley MS Class of 2011 and INI MSIT-21, gathered at Moffett Field for the annual Gathering. The weekend retreat focused on the theme of "Improvisation and Creativity" and featured workshops including "Improv Wisdom" with author Patricia Ryan Madson, "Creativity in Action" with Linda Bickham, and a Panel on Creativity featuring Silicon Valley faculty Martin Griss, Ray Bareiss, and Tony Wasserman.

In addition, students gathered in Downtown San Jose for a live performance of Comedy Sportz, an award-winning interactive comedy show where two teams of "act-letes" compete for audience laughs and points while improvising scenes, games, operas and musicals based on audience suggestions. These workshops and events, along with exercises such as "Presenting to Executives" and "Survival Simulation Game", emphasized how improvisation and creativity can effectively be put into action.
