Grace Kihumba, a first-year graduate student in the MS Information Technology graduate program, began her studies at Carnegie Mellon this fall as the sixth recipient of the EWF INI Fellowship, a unique fellowship program offered through the Information Networking Institute (INI) and the Alta Associates’ Executive Women's Forum (EWF).

Grace, originally from Nairobi, Kenya, is currently at INI in Pittsburgh but will join the Silicon Valley campus in 2014 for the second year of the bicoastal program.

"I would like to conduct research on mobile learning and intelligent tutoring systems for mobile devices," she said. "My interest is in educational technology and e-learning and I hope to work in a research center that has this focus. I also hope to get into a doctorate program after the INI. I plan to go back to Kenya and work in the field of educational technology because it can go a long way to complement learning resources in developing countries."

The CMU-SV campus community looks forward to meeting Grace next year!
