Title: A Project For Smarter Regions: Planning And Programming Public Facilities And Services With Software For Business Modelling. Developing The Proof Of Concept On Health Care
Our cities are having three main problems due to an unsuccessful planning:
- Cities - as urban planning product- are not covering citizens’ needs.
- Urban planning activity is lacking objectivity when balancing cities’ public and private interests.
- In moments of economic crisis, cities’ public realm is in danger.
Urban Planning activity must be more documented and more informed by considering social, economical and geographical data. An objective tool to measure citizens’ public needs would help, also with the deal of public and private lands distribution in cities. Additionally, alternative solutions to the construction of new public buildings must be found to solve the problem of unconstructed plots for facilities due to the weak public budgets. This more analytical, informed, documented and, at the end, scientific, tool for planning and programming facilities and services is a software.
