Title: What can mobile devices can bring to health technologies?
People carry their mobile devices everywhere. Today, mobile devices may have cameras, GPS, network connectivity, and a variety of sensors. These device capabilities can be leveraged to create effective health applications - for example, continuous monitoring of physiological signals, logging of activity data, aiding decision making, or intervening at behavioral turning points. In this talk, I will provide a short overview of mobile health applications, including some health-related projects at Nokia Research Center.
Cynthia Kuo is a Senior Research Scientist at Nokia Research Center in Palo Alto. She is currently focused on creating novel location-based services, with an emphasis on user experience design and usable security / privacy for mobile applications. She earned a B.S. in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University and M.S. and Ph.D. in Engineering & Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University.
