Mary Christine Zeise, Associate Director of Admissions and Alumni RelationsOverview: Chris Zeise is the Associate Director of Admissions & Alumni Relations. A Pittsburgh native, Chris completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh in 1994 and her Master’s degree at Duquesne University in 1999. Following a career in the U.S. Air Force—as well as a variety of positions in accounting, teaching, and administration—Chris joined Carnegie Mellon University in 1994 as the Assistant to the Department Head. She has served as the Graduate Program Administrator for Mechanical Engineering, as well as Editor of the alumni magazine Carnegie Mech, for more than 13 years. During her tenure with Carnegie Mellon, Chris has been very active in addressing graduate student issues. She has served on a number of committees, including the President’s Diversity Advisory Committee for Graduate Education, the Foreign Student Advisory Committee, and the Engineering Advancement Committee. She has also been involved in the University’s Staff Council Committees—and, as Co-Chair of the Benefits Subcommittee, she was one of the founding members of the Carnegie Mellon Walking Club. Additionally, Chris has coordinated and hosted numerous special events including the department commencement activities, homecoming receptions, special faculty career award and chair receptions, and a number of student related events; Open House, Orientation, Student Appreciation, etc. She hopes to maintain a close working relationship with Pittsburgh and cultivate alumni contacts throughout the Bay Area and the Pittsburgh region. Although she is now based in California, Chris will remain a true Pittsburgher and a lifetime Steelers fan. |
