Overview:

Vishwa is a Research Scientist at Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley, collaborating with members of the Robust Software Engineering group at the NASA Ames Research Center. Prior to starting at CMU, Vishwa was in industry for over a decade working on transaction automation, workflow management and electronic design automation.

He obtained his Ph.D. at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he studied quantitative generalizations of simulation and bi-simulation relations to the case of stochastic games. He applied game models to study the problem of synthesizing resource managers for multi-threaded programs and for the automatic synthesis of fair exchange protocols. He was a visiting researcher at the Institute of Science and Technology, Austria prior to his appointment at CMU. In his free time, he enjoys road bicycling, cooking and public radio.
