New technology and application technologies provide opportunities for more rapid acquisition of data from physical and human sensors, more than just from mobile phones; for example, how might a range of new technologies such as sensors, tablets, locationing, biometrics, mobile access points/femtocells, tablets, hi-res TV screens, Android and other smartphones, and app stores, in conjunction with SMS, TWitter, Facebook, etc, change the management of future disasters.
