Alt title: Virtualizing the Common Operating View: Enabling and Empowering "Hastily Formed" ICPs and EOCs
Facilitator: David Coggeshall
Scribe: Bob Dolci
Rapporteur: Jim Wollbrink
Description:
This session will review an ongoing project by the GGSN to develop freely available software for use by public safety agencies and others, to share critical information through a web based Common Operating Picture. Organizations who have agreed to share software methods and programs include the SFC MapLab Project, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), San Jose Water Company, and East Bay Municipal Utilities District (EBMUD). Speakers representing each of these organizations will provide a brief overview of the components that have already been developed. Support and participation by other organizations will be reviewed. The session will conclude with a discussion around a proposal to continue this work as a flagship program of the CMSV - Disaster Management Initiative.
