Abstract:
Google Wave was initially launched a little over a year ago as a new approach to Communication and Collaboration. In that time it has gone through a big hype cycle as well as a lot of changes to settle into a useful product. As of this week Google is no longer developing Wave. Greg will talk about Google Wave, what it was intended to be, and walk through the history (including the good and the bad) of how a product such as this evolved.

Bio:
Greg is a Product Manager on Google Wave based in Sydney, Australia. Before heading down under he was a PM for Google Sites and Google Groups. Pre-Google Greg worked at a variety of start-ups in a variety of roles, most recently as a Product Manager for JotSpot leading up to the Google Acquisition. Eons ago, when the sun was still young, Greg received his ScB and ScM in Electrical Engineering from Brown University.
