18-TBD/96-831 Special Topics: Web Application Security and Performance
This course will provide hands-on experience solving security and performance issues that arise in real-world web applications. The course will be project-oriented, with students working together in teams to dramatically increase the speed of a web application while protecting against the most common web attacks. Security topics will include cross-site scripting, cross-site request forgery, clickjacking, SQL injection, session management, and HTTPS. Performance topics will focus on the frontend performance issues that affect all web applications, such as caching, compression, and page load order.
