96-826 Directed Research
This course provides students an opportunity to work on supervised individual and small team research projects, potentially spanning several semesters. Students will work under the guidance of an experienced researcher and participate in a research program on projects of direct interest and relevance to the faculty supervisor's research. Students will participate in a research seminar and regular research meetings to learn about the research process, review research papers and discuss ongoing research activities and progress. Students will produce meaningful research deliverables, such as concept demonstrations, prototypes, open source contributions and publication quality reports. Students in good standing may register with permission of the instructor; the petition to register must be submitted at least two weeks before official registration week begins. Note: This course is not the same as the 96-716 or 96-843 Independent Study courses.
