96-820 Product Management
This course will provide students with a systematic methodology and the corresponding set of methods and analytical tools to address the management of products in an integrated manner, which enables the cost-effective and rapid development of profitable and high quality technologies and products. Topics covered will include product development, and project planning, strategic analysis of the business landscape, quality function deployment, and economic analysis of product development. These topics will be addressed within the context of high technologies such as software, computers, information systems, and semiconductors. ( This course will be offered jointly with UC Santa Cruz, and will include a mid-term and final exam.)

Prerequisites: Elements of Software Management (96-780). You must register for Entrepreneurial Finance, Product Management, and another 12 unit elective to get the required 24 units. This course is available to second year students only.
