96-730 Special Topics: Smartphone Development II

This project course will extend the depth and followup of Smartphone Development I. Student applications will change and develop them for three purposes; to deploy an application that people use, to publish a scientific or popular paper about the work and to develop presentation strategy to publicize the work in the media. The course will proceed with "why", "what" and "how" evaluations to understand product development, evaluation and deployment. Students will learn how to develop and execute and make use of informal and formal human factors evaluations. Students will learn how to develop publications for scientific or marketing goals or product dissemination strategies. Students will deepen and complete prototypes, evaluate them for scalability and public usage. Students will deepen their understanding and experience evaluating product proposals. Students will have the opportunity to deploy entrepreneurial efforts.
