Prepare for Future Leadership Roles

"I attended Carnegie Mellon University for my undergraduate degree. When I decided to pursue a graduate degree in software engineering, I researched most of the graduate programs available in the Bay Area. The MS in Software Engineering Program at Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley had both the technical focus that I knew I wanted, and also offered a Development Management track that would prepare me for future leadership roles in software management. Although I had attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh for my undergraduate degree, I once again chose Carnegie Mellon because it had exactly what I was looking for..

The MS in Software Engineering program at Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley is unique in comparison to programs offered at other schools. The program’s learn-by-doing approach provides hands-on experience and knowledge that are immediately applicable to my current job and as well as to my future career goals. Coursework consists of group projects with clear expectations for deadlines, deliverables, and time commitments and the opportunity to learn how to be accountable for helping to achieve team goals. I’ve learned not only how to work more efficiently on the job, but also how to manage all areas of my life better and maintain a healthy balance in my personal, professional, and educational pursuits."
