Visiting Carnegie Mellon in Silicon Valley

Carnegie Mellon University's Silicon Valley Campus is located in the NASA Ames Research Park in Mountain View, CA.

NASA Ames Security 

All visitors must pass through a security gate to reach the campus.  A valid driver's license, state ID, or federal ID is required. When presenting your ID, let them know you are going to Carnegie Mellon.

To CMU Building 23 — S. Akron Road

  • Follow Clark Road past the security gate and move into the right lane as you approach the "Y" in the road (about 200 yards).
  • Continue in the right lane as the road bends right, passing the chapel on your right. Building 23 will be on your left.
  • Make an immediate left into CMU's parking lot behind Building 23. Follow signs/lights to the main entrance in the front of the building on Akron Road.
  • Accessible entry to Building 23 is available via the elevator at the front of the building or by ramp at the back of the building.

To CMU Building 19 — N. Akron Road

  • Follow Clark Road past the security gate and remain in the left lane as you approach the "Y" in the road (about 200 yards).
  • Continue in the left lane as the road splits, passing CMU's Building 23 on your right.
  • Continue to the stop sign at McCord Ave and turn left.
    • Turn left on N. Akron Road to reach the front of Building 19.
    • Continue on McCord Ave past the US Post Office and turn into the parking lot on your left to park behind Building 19.
  • Accessible entry to Building 19 is available by ramp at the back of the building.
