6:30 AM on Saturday 14th December 2013 the 4th floor of Telecom House was a buzz with Students, Faculty and Staff of Carnegie Mellon University in Rwanda (CMU-R), finalizing arrangements for the career fair participants.
CMU-R was holding it’s inaugural career fair at its current location in Rwanda, Kigali. The fair run from 8am till 12pm with up to 23 companies exhibiting and interviewing Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) students.
“Students geared up to meeting company representatives from all fields of ICT in Rwanda”
The exhibition was held in two classrooms in the C-Wing of the CMU-R telecom house location. CMU-R currently occupies the 4th floor, with expansions being made to the 5th. These expansions are to accommodate the new Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (MSECE) program that will be starting August 2014, with applications being taken now.
The exhibition halls were busting with energy as students from the two MSIT intakes met potential employers, were offered internship placement, consultancies, discussed partnerships and spoke about themselves. “A perfect networking and career building opportunity”, said Victor Kagimu an MSIT student from the 2013 intake.
