Farnam Jahanian, Accomplished Scientist and Successful Entrepreneur, Named CMU's Vice President of Research

Carnegie Mellon University has selected Farnam Jahanian, an accomplished computer scientist and a successful entrepreneur with extensive leadership and administrative experience in higher education, government and the private sector, as its new vice president of research, effective Sept. 1.
 
Since 2011 he has been on leave from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and has been serving as the National Science Foundation's assistant director for Computer and Information Science and Engineering.
