Sponsored Programs and Research Compliance System (SPARCS)

In early Spring 2013, Carnegie Mellon University began the process of identifying, evaluating, selecting and implementing an enterprise-wide electronic system to support sponsored programs and research compliance activities.  The Sponsored Programs and Research Compliance System (SPARCS) will replace CMU’s homegrown system Sponsored Projects Exchange (SPEX) in the Summer of 2015.

The initiative has two major phases: 1) Discovery Phase for requirements development and product selection (commenced January 2013) and; 2) Delivery Phase for system implementation. The entire project is expected to run for 30 months.
