Brian French received his BS in computer engineering (2006) from the University of Washington and is currently a PhD student at Carnegie Mellon University in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is advised by Dan Siewiorek and Asim Smailagic. His research interests include pervasive, mobile and context-aware computing. He is currently working on a virtual coach for manual wheelchair users and on an NIH funded study on workplace stress using the eWatch wearable computer platform. He is also assisting in the development of a virtual coach for power wheelchair users by the Rapid Protoyping of Computer Systems class of 2008.
