Hartmut Geyer received the Dipl. degree in Physics and the Ph.D. degree in Biomechanics from the Friedrich-Schiller-University of Jena in 2001 and 2005, respectively.

He is an Assistant Professor at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University.  His research focuses on the principles of legged dynamics and control, their relation to human motor control, and resulting applications in rehabilitation robotics.
