Brad Dicianno, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. He is the Medical Director of The Center for Assistive Technology and directs the Department's Adult Spina Bifida Outpatient clinic. Dr. Dicianno received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2001 with an Area Of Concentration (AOC) in Disability Medicine. Dr. Dicianno completed his residency here in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation in 2005 and served as Chief Resident. Dr. Dicianno was awarded a K12 Career Training Grant through the Rehabilitation Medicine Scientist Training Program which fosters careers in research. He is currently working at the Human Engineering Research Laboratories (HERL) where his current research focus is understanding movement disorders and motor control of the upper limb by studying interfaces with such devices as power wheelchair joysticks. He also has interests in injuries associated with wheelchair propulsion and adaptive sports.
