Marek P. Michalowski is a Ph.D. student in the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. He received his B.A. in Computer Science & Psychology and M.S. in Computer Science from Yale University. He works in the area of human-robot social interaction. His research interests include the role of attention and rhythmicity in enabling and regulating social interaction. His current projects involve the development of nonverbal toy-like robots for exploring the mechanisms and effects of social rhythmicity in interactive play with children, particularly for the development of therapeutic applications.
