Danny Fernandes is a PhD student at Heinz and is interested in understanding how people engage with assistive technologies. In particular, he creates simulation and statistical models of how people adopt and interact with technologies. The analysis of these models will help impact the design and deployment strategies for these technologies so that the technologies can more effectively improve the quality of life of users. In particular he is interested in studying how these models can help reduce the incidence of abandonment of assistive technologies amongst people with disabilities.
