James Kuffner is an Assistant Professor in the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Stanford University in 1999, and was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Tokyo from 1999-2001. He joined Carnegie Mellon in 2002. He is interested in developing algorithms and software for simulating and synthesizing motion for complex kinematic and dynamic systems. This research involves interdisciplinary work in robotics, computer graphics, and computational geometry.
