Asim Smailagic Elevated to IEEE Fellow

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Board of Directors elevated Asim Smailagic to the rank of IEEE Fellow. Asim,  ICES Research Professor and Director of Laboratory for Interactive Computer Systems (LINCS), received the Institute's most prestigious honor for his contributions to wearable, pervasive, and context aware computing. His new rank will take effect on January 1, 2010. Each year, following a rigorous evaluation procedure, the IEEE Fellow Committee recommends a select group of recipients from its members to receive this honor.
