Instructions for the use of Carnegie
Mellon University’s
trademarks
Carnegie
Mellon University
has published an "Official University Identity System" guide.
This guide, in its entirety can be found on the web at http://www.cmu.edu/identity/. There is also a new identity guide for
our new mascot logo.
You are strongly encouraged to review both guides as the Trademark
Licensing Office will not be granting exceptions to the standards
articulated in the style guide, so please contact us if you have any
questions. Companies not having access to the mascot graphics secure site
may request specific written documentation/instructions and artwork by emailing
The Trademark Licensing Office at Marano@andrew.cmu.edu
or calling (412) 268-3904.
Please note while some regard the letters “CMU” to refer to Carnegie Mellon University, it is
incorrect to use this acronym and artwork depicting it will be
rejected. Interested parties are
encouraged to support the Carnegie Mellon brand in accordance with our
identity program.
