Eligibility All employees who have been employed for at least 12 months and who have worked 1,250 hours in the 12 months preceding the start of the leave. Salary Replacement Full-time employees must use all but five of their earned Paid Time Off days unless receiving Short-Term Disability, otherwise the leave is unpaid. Short-Term Disability pays 60% of weekly salary. There is a one-week waiting period. Short-Term Disability is payable for up to 25 weeks or until disability ends, whichever comes first. Short-Term Disability is not payable for months in which salary is not normally paid. (Short-Term Disability for maternity normally begins when disability occurs, and ends six weeks after date of childbirth. If you have reserve sick days (RSDs) available, you may use RSDs for 100% of salary in lieu of the 60% Short-Term Disability benefit. Reserve Sick Days will be included in the calculation of the 25-week maximum Short-Term Disability duration. LTD pays 60% of monthly salary up to a maximum of $6,500 per month. Approximately two-thirds of your average weekly wage, up to a weekly maximum as provided under the Workers' Compensation Act. Benefits begin on the seventh calendar day and are payable through the thirteenth calendar day. If disability is 14 days or more, benefits will be retroactive to the first day of disability. None.
