SHUTTLE/ESCORT POLICY

  1. All riders must show a valid Carnegie Mellon ID or an Academy for Lifelong Learning (A.L.L.) membership card upon boarding an escort/shuttle vehicle. One guest is permitted with each valid rider.
  2. During the hours when the shuttle is in operation, residents of university off-campus housing are requested to use the shuttle service instead of escort service to eliminate overcrowding.
  3. The escort service will take you to your residence within a one-and-one-half-mile radius of campus within limits, or transport between any university building, including official university off-campus housing. The escort service does not transport from a private residence or business establishment back to campus.

  5. Only one piece of carry-on luggage allowed per rider; exceptions made with driver’s permission.

Transportation Services for Individuals with Disabilities

Disabled individuals who need transportation during PTC Shuttle off hours or outside of the service boundary (1.5 miles around the main campus) are required to give a minimum of 24 hours notice. Such requests will be filled depending upon availability of drivers and handicap-accessible vehicles, and/or provided police officers are not on a higher priority assignment.
