Lt. Scheimer

Lieutenant Gary Scheimer

Lt. Gary Scheimer joined the Carnegie Mellon University Police Department in May, 2009 after retiring as a Sergeant from the Dormont Police Department with 28 years of service.  Prior to joining the Dormont Police Department, Lt. Scheimer served as a Security Specialist for Equibank in Pittsburgh, which is now a part of the PNC Banking network.  Lt. Scheimer's qualifications include:

  • Bachelor Degree, Law Enforcement Administration, Kent State University, Magna Cum Laude
  • Allegheny County Police Academy, Director's Award, First in Class
  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Investigations Training
  • FEMA and BowMac-Incident Command System Training
  • University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs-Hostage Negotiations Training
  • Citations from the PA State Legislature for his role in solving a 2005 Homicide Investigation
  • Institute of Security and Technology--Instructor
