School of Music Presents "From the Top"

Chris O'RileyThe School of Music and Classical WQED 89.3 FM present a live taping of "From the Top," the pre-eminent NPR program that showcases young musicians, at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14 at Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland.
 
Hosted by acclaimed pianist Christopher O'Riley, the broadcast, which airs in Pittsburgh at 5 p.m. Saturdays on Classical WQED 89.3 FM, features amazing performances and captivating personal stories of extraordinary young classical musicians from across the country.

Now in its 12th year, "From the Top" has featured prominent guest artists including Yo-Yo Ma, Hilary Hahn, Béla Fleck, Sir James Galway, Jake Shimabukuro and Michael Feinstein. "From the Top" alumni are now appearing in the country's top orchestras and emerging with solo careers.
