CMU Portugal’s Entrepreneur-in-Residence Program Comes to Pittsburgh

CMU Portugal LogoThe Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program has created a pilot international Entrepreneur-in-Residence program to work with Portuguese companies in the hopes they might set up U.S. operations in Pittsburgh. Four Portuguese companies currently in the program are coming to visit CMU and Pittsburgh Feb. 8-10. 

At 6 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8, the companies will participate in an Innovation Happens program at Alpha Labs at 2325 East Carson Street on the Southside. Innovation Happens is a group of entrepreneurs and corporate executives who connect to network and see demonstrations from innovative startups. Greenlighting LogoAt 4 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10, a networking reception outside of Rashid Auditorium, 4401 Hillman Center, will precede a 5 p.m. International Company Showcase in Rashid Auditorium, where the four Portuguese companies will make presentations. The showcase also will feature other early-stage growth companies from outside the U.S. The showcase is presented by CMU Greenlighting Startups, which includes Project Olympus, the Donald H. Jones Center for Entrepreneurship, the Center for Technology Transfer and Enterprise Creation, the Open Field Entrepreneurs Fund and the Quality of Life Technology Foundry.
