New Wireless Network Available to Pittsburgh Campus

As of Aug. 1, 2011, Computing Services has made a new wireless network available to the Pittsburgh campus. The new CMU-SECURE wireless network is available in most academic and administrative buildings, as well as a few residence halls.

The new network requires your Andrew userID and password to connect and offers data encryption between wireless devices and the wireless access point. This encryption provides additional privacy and protection against identity theft exploits.

The existing CMU wireless network will continue to be available for devices that do not support the encrypted connection and where CMU-SECURE is not available. For more information and how to set CMU-SECURE as a default, visit http://www.cmu.edu/computing/network/connect/wireless/secure/index.html.
