CMU To Host Three-Day Program on Emergency Response

More than 40 participants from eight area colleges and universities will participate in a three-day course on emergency management, Aug. 16-18, at the Mellon Institute. Madelyn Miller, director of the Environmental Health & Safety Department, and Tom Ogden, chief of Carnegie Mellon Police, are hosting the course, titled “Managing Critical Incidents for Higher Education Institutions: A Multi-Disciplinary Community. The course, presented by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators, trains public safety managers and administrative personnel at college and university campuses in appropriate emergency response activities.

Participants will include representatives from the Pittsburgh Police Department, Allegheny College, CMU, Carlow University, Duquesne University, Point Park University, Community College of Allegheny County-North, the University of Pittsburgh and Robert Morris University.
