April Galyardt, Statistics

Advisor, Brian Junker

April has wrangled degrees from several universities including a BA from Texas Tech, and an MS from Northern Illinois University , both in mathematics. She's been tutoring and teaching college mathematics since she was 16. Before April came to CMU, she was teaching part-time at a community college, and at a private high school.

April is perpetually distracted by all the fascinating research that everybody in the PIER program is doing, much like a raccoon drawn to every shiny object. That's what's so great about statistics, the opportunity to be a professional dilettante. However, she does have a consistent interest in designing educational experiences in mathematics at the secondary and collegiate levels.
