April Galyardt, Statistics, (Advisor, Brian Junker)
4th yr PIER, 5th yr Stats
April has wrangled degrees from several universities including a BA from Texas Tech, and an MS from Northern Illinois University, both in mathematics.  She's been tutoring and teaching college mathematics since she was 16.  Before April came to CMU, she was teaching part-time at a community college, and at a private high school.

April is perpetually distracted by all the fascinating research that everybody in the PIER program is doing, much like a raccoon drawn to every shiny object.  That's what's so great about statistics, the opportunity to be a professional dilettante.  However, she does have a consistent interest in designing educational experiences in mathematics at the secondary and collegiate levels.
