Parking Locations

East Campus Garage

All non-permit holder vehicles must exit the East Campus Garage by 5:30 a.m. Parking Services does not charge for parking in the East Campus Garage between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. weekdays nor on weekends. There are reserved spaces on the first level of the East Campus Garage (as indicated by signage). Unauthorized parking in these spaces will result in a citation. Non permit holders use the pay-as-you-park system and procedures to enter and exit the garage, even when not paying (evenings and weekends).

University Center Parking

There are 7 metered parking spaces located inside the University Center parking area facing Gesling Stadium. These meters are 2-hour meters and are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The meter rate is a quarter for 15 minutes. Parking & Transportation Services has authority to determine if the meters may be used for Visitor Parking for oversized vehicles that cannot park in the garage.

The area facing the University Center driveway is designated for Active loading for the U.C. for 15 Minutes Only. The area adjacent to the loading dock (behind Weigand Gymnasium) may only be used by Carnegie Mellon business vehicles (such as; FMS, Postal, Dining and Retail Services) or outside repair/maintenance service companies, in a marked company vehicle.

The circular drive area is for pedestrian drop-off and pick-up, 5 minute limit only; driver must be present in vehicle. The circular drive is not for service vehicle parking, deliveries or short-term parking. Delivery vehicles are allowed to load and unload only if the loading dock area is full.

Parking Meters

The rates for all university meters are a quarter for 15 minutes and accommodate 4 hours of parking (except the 7 metered parking spaces located inside the University Center parking area facing the stadium which only accommodate 2 hours). Meter fees (applicable to both permit holders and non-permit holders) apply 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Vehicles parked at meters designated for disabled parking must display either a temporary disabled permit (issued from Parking Services), a disabled placard or have a disabled license plate, otherwise the vehicle will be ticketed.

Parking at a meter with either 1) an area permit, or 2) a Universal or Mini-Universal pass does not eliminate the need to deposit quarters in the meter. A citation will be issued.

Permit Holder Reserved Spaces

There are reserved parking spaces in various university parking lots. These spaces have special reserved space signs and are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, unless otherwise specified.

In the East Campus Garage, there are reserved spaces (as indicated by signage). Unauthorized parking in these spaces will result in a citation.
