Study Leaders
The popularity and growth of Osher at Carnegie Mellon is due to the commitment, enthusiasm and talents of our study leaders. Study leaders volunteer all of their time in preparing and educating an engaged group of lifelong learners. Professors from Carnegie Mellon, the University of Pittsburgh and other local colleges and high schools, religious figures, political consultants, lawyers, artists, architects, directors of non-profit groups, police detectives, physicians, historians, engineers, assistant district attorneys, poets, editors, chefs, naturopaths and the Dean of our Library have all provided a splendid array of diversified and stimulating courses. Members of the Curriculum Committee meet to discuss potential study leaders three times per year. Carnegie Mellon professors have been most helpful in teaching courses and in recommending other instructors to volunteer their time to teach for Osher. Members have also provided suggestions for possible courses and are encouraged to do so.
