Luncheon at the Grand Concourse, May 2009

Lectures: During the months of January through May and September through December, Osher sponsors a once-monthly evening lecture. The lectures are held in the Connan Room of the University Center. Carnegie Mellon professors and well-known community members including physicians, authors and media professionals are often invited to speak for one hour, with a question and answer period following the presentation. Our 2008 speakers included Elden J. Gatwood, Brian O'Neill, Dr. Bruce Rabin, Dan Simpson, Robert Resnick, Stuart Hoffman, and William Block, Jr. 2009 speakers have included Elaine Berkowitz, Dr. Bob Donnorummo, Dr. Susan G. Polansky, and Dan Simpson. We've also shown a 92nd St Y lecture with Cornel West and Susan Nieman, a Thai program, and a Luncheon and Dancing Demonstration at the Absolute Ballroom, plus an Ice Cream Social. Members and those on the waiting list are invited to monthly lectures.

Trips: Osher sponsors both one day trips and multi-day trips several times throughout the year. Trips for the remainder of 2009 will include:

One-Day Trips: Punxsutawney, IUP and the Jimmy Stewart Museum

Multi-Day Trips: Shaw Festival, Chautauqua Institute, Greenbrier Resort, and Hudson Valley, NY

Luncheons: Luncheons are held several times per year at popular, unique or ethnic restaurants in the area. In 2009, gatherings were held at the Grand Concourse and the Absolute Ballroom.
