May 21 | Michael Bikerman, “Disasters: Natural and Man-Made”
May 21st is our next evening lecture featuring Michael Bikerman. “Disasters: Natural and Man-Made” It starts at 7:30pm in the McConomy Auditorium at Carnegie Mellon University. Reservations required; call the Osher office (412) 268-7489 or email osher@cmu.edu.

May 30 | Day trip to Amish Country, Ohio
May 30th will be a day trip to Amish County, Ohio. This is a trip that will captivate everyone from shoppers, to foodies, to history buffs, to lovers of nostalgia! Reservations are due May 20th. Reservations can be taken by phone with a credit card or mail in the attached form with your check. Trip Cancellation Policy: No refund will be given for no-shows, or cancellations after May 17th, 2013. Cancellations prior to May 17st will be subject to a $10.00 administration fee. June 4 | Osher Luncheon
Save the date! June 4th Our next luncheon is planned for Tuesday June 4th. It will be a catered lunch held in the community room at Chatham Village after our members have a walking tour and history lesson about this gem of a “green” residential community in the heart of Mount Washington. June 6-9 | Historic Bardstown & Louisville, KY
Save the date for this multi-day trip from Pittsburgh to Bardstown and Louisville, Kentucky. Bardstown has a Historic District, centered in the downtown area, which includes the first Catholic church west of the Allegheny mountains, the Old Talbott Tavern, the Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History, and the wonderful and famous Old Kentucky Home. Louisville is home to several museums and other historic attractions. Details coming.

June 17-21 | Mackinac Island at Lilac Time
Save the date for this multi-day trip from Pittsburgh to Mackinac Island (Michigan), where we will visit during the annual Lilac Festival. Since no private motor vehicles are allowed on Mackinac Island, the floats of the Lilac Parade are all drawn by horse, one of the few remaining horse-drawn parades in the United States. Details coming.

July 16-19 | Shaw Festival Theater, Niagara-on-the-Lake
Join us for a four-day, three-night trip to Shaw Festival held at Niagara-on-the-Lake. The Shaw Festival is a world-class Ontario theatre group located at the mouth of the mighty Niagara River and Lake Ontario in a quaint little town, Niagara-on-the-Lake and produces the works of George Bernard Shaw and Shavian playwrights. The town has retained its 19th-century charm and is truly a wonderful place to visit. Along with the reputation as being “the prettiest town in Canada,” it is also one of the most fascinating historically. Note a passport is required for this trip. Details coming.
