Villanova University Drill/Military Excellence Competition Meet

Last year, the midshipmen of our unit had the honor of experiencing the competition at Villanova University. CMU NROTC is one among many NROTC battalions to compete in the Villanova MEC. At this event, midshipmen give it their all in competing in activities such as track events, swimming, drilling, color guard, cross country, and the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test (PFT). CMU NROTC was quite successful, as usual, bringing home several awards, notably in the Marine Corps PFT, cross country, and track events.

Midshipmen on the drill and color guard teams also have the chance to strut their stuff on the drill deck after countless weeks of rigorous practice. Events aside, Villanova provided an excellent atmosphere geared toward building camaraderie among fellow midshipmen. The feeling of your lungs near bursting while cheering on your midshipmen bent on bringing glory to the battalion is unreal and incomparable to anything else.
