Midshipman Ball - Carnegie Mellon University NROTCU - Carnegie Mellon University

Midshipman Ball

The Midshipman Ball, or Naval Ball, is held every spring to celebrate the graduating first class and another year of the Carnegie Mellon University Naval ROTC program. It serves to foster camaraderie among the Midshipmen of the CMU NROTC Unit, and is an enjoyable evening for all.

The Naval Ball is organized by Midshipmen and funded in part by Battalion members working concessions at University of Pittsburgh football games. The evening opens with the formal presentation of the First Class followed by addresses from a keynote speaker and the Unit Leadership, a Midshipmen slide show highlighting the year, dinner and dancing. Midshipmen are permitted to invite dates from outside the NROTC program or to come with fellow Midshipmen. Male Midshipmen wear their Service Dress Blues; females attend in appropriate evening gowns.
